A good solution to remove burnt food from the pots is to add hot water and bring to a boil. The high temperatures of the water will help to soften the hardened rind and subsequently be able to remove most of it. To scratch away the residual dirt, attached to the bottom and walls of the pot, we can use a metal sponge or the more abrasive side of the sponge, as long as it is a steel pot. Then we use a little baking soda and lemon juice, and as a sponge we use the lemon half itself, applying light pressure and cleaning with circular movements.

Many are chemicals that contain acid substances among the ingredients. Others, however, are less invasive and more environmentally friendly. The best solutions remain the so-called “grandmother’s remedies” which include ingredients readily available at home but above all elbow grease and lots of patience.
